Pack 564 runs a booth at the Scout Show at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds each year where kids can make their own wood-burned neckerchief slides and necklaces. The show is coming up on Saturday, but two 1-hour-long shift remain open — from 1-2 and from 2-3.
If your den hasn’t yet signed up, or you can volunteer to help fill these slots, please contact Andrew Lee as soon as possible.
Each shift requires at least three adults to help the kids use the wood burning tools, glue guns and drill. Scouts can help participants choose the wood chip for their slide, handing out gloves and other tasks.
Before or after your shift, you can check out activities and displays from scouting units all over the Northeast Georgia Council. Scouts and Scouters in uniform are admitted at no charge, camp cards provide free entry for up to four people.
